COLD LAKE – A decision has been made by 4 Wing Cold Lake to reduce access to the base closing a “back gate” situated at Kingsway Road until further notice.
The exact date for when the closure will be implemented was not provided by 4 Wing’s Public Affairs office. However, the back gate will be closed every night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. “due to increasing security needs.”
No traffic will be allowed through this zone until further notice, stated Capt. Sophie Quemeneur, the 4 Wing Cold Lake public affairs officer.
“We apologize if this causes any inconvenience,” she continued. “It is highly recommended to make alternative commute arrangements and plan ahead of time to avoid any disappointment.”
Access to 4 Wing between 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. will be through Highway 28 and Centre Avenue (48 Ave, Cold Lake).
