Ammunition, gun, stolen property seized after suspicious vehicle reported in Elk Point

Two men have been arrested by Elk Point RCMP

ELK POINT - Two people were arrested following a report of a suspicious vehicle at a local business in Elk Point on Oct. 28.
 
"Upon arrival, police located the vehicle bearing a stolen licence plate. The vehicle was searched by police and a 9mm rifle, two extended magazines, ammunition and stolen were located," according to RCMP.
 
Police reviewed the surveillance video and were able to locate the two suspects a short time later at a nearby restaurant. During a search after the arrest, police located white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, a stolen driver's license, stolen cheques, ammunition, and other items.
 
Chad Cardinal, 37, of Saddle Lake was charged with the following:
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance. Careless Use of Firearm
  •  Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  •  Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  •  Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order (x4)
  •  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (x2)
  •  Identity Theft (x3)
  •  Possession of a Stolen Credit Card.
  •  Failure to comply with a Release Order.
Randall Pasquayak, 21, of Saddle Lake was charged with the following:
  •  Careless Use of Firearm
  •  Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  •  Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  •  Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order (x4)
  •  Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  •  Failure to comply with a Release Order (x5)
Cardinal has been remanded into custody to appear at the St Paul Provincial Court on Nov. 2. Pasquayak has been remanded into custody to appear at the St Paul Provincial Court on Nov. 5
