Lac La Biche County peace officers are using a recent traffic ticket to highlight the importance of slowing down for emergency vehicles.
Peace officers caught up to a vehicle on Highway 881 north of the Lac La Biche hamlet on a recent afternoon, after it had reportedly sped past an emergency vehicle on the side of the highway. Peace officers were patrollng the highway after receiving complaints of speeding vehicles.
Peace officers say the offending driver was travelling at 105 kilometres per hour when it passed the parked emergency vehicle. The speed when passing emergency vehicles on an undividded highway is 60 km/h
