LLOYDMINSTER – Bonnyville and area ballerinas will be heading to Lloydminster on Sunday, Dec. 18, to take part in performances of ‘The Nutcracker.’
Bonnyville ballerinas will join with their United Youth Ballet Company counterparts from Lloydminster to put on two premier performances at the Vic Juba Community Theatre this weekend.
Sarah Makin, the owner and operator of Fame Dance Studios LTD that runs the ballet company, hopes that Lakeland residents will make the trip to support the art of dance and local performers.
“We have started this ballet company to inspire audiences and dancers to be in love with ballet as much as we are,” said Makin.
Taking in the classic Christmas performance is a great way for people to get in the holiday spirit, she added.
The first performance will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The evening show is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at the Vic Juba Box Office.
Non-perishable food donations will also be accepted for the Salvation Army and the Olive Tree at the doors.
