BONNYVILLE – On Dec. 25, for the first time ever, the Bonnyville Friendship Centre will be serving up a hot Christmas meal for those who are in need.

The Christmas meal will be served from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Friendship Centre’s first Christmas lunch was made possible with support from Trinity Xpress Ltd. owners Jason and Amy Toews, said Janet Gobert, the centre’s community initiatives coordinator.

“They were actually the ones that reached out. Jason wanted to know if there was something that we could link together on Christmas Day in order to serve the population that may not have the resources to have a hot Christmas meal. So, they are coming along with their staff, which we are looking forward to,” she said.

Anybody who would like to volunteer to dish up meals on Christmas afternoon can contact the Bonnyville Friendship Centre.
