BONNYVILLE – The Bonnyville Health Centre is resuming its regular clinic hours for diagnostic imaging outpatients following a temporary service reduction that began near the end of August due to staffing shortages.
Clinic hours for outpatients needing diagnostic imaging will be accessible Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to a media statement from Covenant Health released Oct. 14.
Outpatients are those who have a referral from a doctor for imaging but are not a patient of the Bonnyville Healthcare Centre.
Diagnostic imaging patients arriving at the clinic will still be triaged and those needing urgent care will be seen first, notes the healthcare provider.
Patients requiring emergent care should visit Bonnyville hospital’s Emergency Department or call 811 for more information.
“We would like to thank the community for their patience while we navigated staffing shortages,” says Covenant Health Communications Manager Karen Diaper.
“We are grateful to our teams who have worked diligently to support patient care and each other during this service reduction. Our top priority remains the safety of our patients and staff.”
Between mid-August and Oct. 14, the Bonnyville Healthcare Centre’s diagnostic imaging outpatient services were reduced to services only being offered Monday to Friday between 12:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
