BONNYVILLE - A motor vehicle collision in Kehewin on Sept. 22 resulted in two arrests being made by Bonnyville RCMP.

The 24-year-old female driver from Edmonton was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. The 31-year-old female passenger from Cold Lake was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

When members attended the MVC, they found two women in the vehicle. A stolen license place was attached to the unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

Both women were released on appearance notices.

Assault

On Sept. 18, RCMP received a complaint from a woman who had been punched in the leg at 1AM Liquor store. The accused also called her names.

The complainant asked for charges to be laid since she wanted conditions of no contact placed on the accused.

A 44-year-old man from Bonnvyille was arrested nearby. He was later released on an undertaking with conditions.

Stolen vehicles

RCMP have once again responded to multiple complaints of stolen vehicles over the past week.

A 2007 red Ford F350 was reportedly stolen from Iron River on Sept. 19.

RCMP received a complaint, stating the vehicle was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on Hwy. 55, heading west. RCMP members patrolled the area and requested assistance from Lac La Biche RCMP.

The pick-up has not been located and the investigation remains open.

On Sept. 21, a 2004 red Ford F350 was stolen from the parking lot of Ducharme Motors in Bonnyville. The investigation remains open and police are looking to the public for any information that could help in the investigation.

Also on Sept. 21, a complainant reported their 2017 Black Ford truck had been stolen overnight. The owner of the vehicle had left a wallet in the vehicle and the credit cards were used in a nearby town.

RCMP continue to investigate and are gathering more details of credit card transactions that were made.

The next day, on Sept. 22, RCMP received a complaint about another vehicle being stolen.

The complainant said the vehicle broke down on the side of the road Friday night. The next day, they received a call from an RCMP member stating vandalism had occurred to the vehicle, include a window being smashed.

When the complainant went to pick up the vehicle, it was gone. The vehicle is a white 2004 Pontiac Bonneville. The investigation is ongoing.

Please contact 780-343-7200 if you have information about any of the vehicle thefts.

Recovered vehicle

A stolen vehicle was recovered on Sept. 20, before the owner even knew it was missing.

A blue 2002 GMC Sierra was seen stuck in a field, with its engine still running, the windows open and lights on. No one was in or around the vehicle.

The complainant who called in the vehicle found insurance papers for a man out of Wainwright. RCMP attended the location and found the vehicle in an open field on TWP 621.

When the registered owner of the vehicle was called, the owner didn't know his vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was towed to the Bonnyville RCMP detachment for fingerprinting. The investigation remains open.

Thefts from vehicles

Multiple vehicles along the 39 block of 41 Ave had items stolen overnight. A complaint was received by RCMP on Sept. 21 stating personal items were taken from a number of vehicles.

Items stolen include an iPhone 7, Nintendo Switch (turquoise in a white case) and a brown wallet. RCMP continue to investigate.
