BONNYVILLE – From April 22-29, Bonnyville RCMP members have been involved with 129 investigations related to a wide range of offences.
Just after 10 a.m. on April 25, Bonnyville RCMP received a report that a motorist had just driven through the fence at the Parent Child Centre in town.
The driver was spoken to by police, and advised his foot slid off the break and hit the gas which caused the collision with the fence.
The 57-year-old male from Bonnyville was issued a violation ticket related to the incident.
Sobering up
On April 27 at 7 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to an apartment complex on 46 Ave. to respond to a woman that was sleeping in the lobby.
“Upon police arrival it became evident the woman was intoxicated by drugs,” state RCMP in a media release.
When the responding officer tried to escort the woman from the building she allegedly began to fight with the officer.
The 27-year-old woman was then arrested and lodged in jail until sober. She was released later that day and charged with assaulting a police officer, obstruction and mischief.
She is set to appear in Bonnyville Provincial court on May 24.
Drinking and driving
On April 29 just after 2 a.m., a member of the Bonnyville RCMP initiated a traffic stop with vehicle that had stopped at green light at 50 Ave. and 46 St.
The driver reportedly admitted to the recent consumption of alcohol and had open liquor in his vehicle.
The 19-year-old from Cold Lake provided a breath sample that indicated he had over the legal limit of alcohol in his bloodstream. Provincial Sanctions for impaired driving were implemented, and his vehicle was seized and towed.
Furthermore, his registration and insurance were expired, say police.
He was served a violation ticket for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He was also given warning for the open liquor and registration offences.
Outbuilding of gas station broken into
Bonnyville RCMP continue to investigate a break-in that occurred at a business's outbuilding.
On April 26, RCMP received a report from a local gas station that one of their outbuildings had been broken into.
Anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.
