Cabrini Cup supports Mallaig Minor Hockey

On Aug. 23, the Cabrini Park Challenge Cup, an annual charity bean bag tournament helped raise money for Mallaig Minor Hockey.

MALLAIG – Every year, members of the Mallaig and surrounding communities come together for a day of fun, and to support Mallaig Minor Hockey.

On Aug. 23, the Cabrini Park Challenge Cup, an annual charity bean bag tournament, which runs alongside a tractor and car show, helped raise money for Mallaig Minor Hockey. Money raised helps with the organization's costs, and allows young hockey players to enjoy the sport.

"This community and the amount of support we get is unreal," said Laurier Jodoin, president of Mallaig Minor Hockey. "Everyone understands the cost of everything that goes into supporting a minor hockey association, especially in a small town."

"People are just out and about helping out and it's awesome to see," said Jodoin.
