BONNYVILLE - Volunteers will be slowing down traffic along the Town of Bonnyville’s Main Street and encouraging citizens to embrace the season of giving by donating to the annual charity event.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, Bonnyville Victim Services and Bonnyville Emergency Services will be hitting the streets to collect donations for a variety of charitable organizations during the 10th annual Charity Check Stop.
The Charity Check Stop will run from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, with temperatures expected to hit a high of –11 C.
Motorists travelling through the check stop will be asked to donate new, unwrapped toys for the Santa’s Elves program, as well as non-perishable food items for the local Food Bank.
Any cash donations received will be dispersed to the Food Bank and to schools for hot lunch programs.
