The County of St. Paul is asking ratepayers hooked up to County water lines to voluntarily reduce their water use effective today due to the extreme hot weather expected to last all week in the region.
The restriction is expected to last until the heat warning is lifted. Extreme hot weather and dry conditions are causing increased demand on the County of St. Paul's water supply system.
"This voluntary water restriction requires customers to reduce non-essential water use, such as the watering of lawns.
"Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation," reads a statement issued Monday morning.
