Driver with suspended learner's licence charged with impaired driving

A 30-year-old man from Bonnyville has been issued a Provincial Sanction after allegedly failing a mandatory alcohol screening. RCMP discovered the man had outstanding warrants and was a suspended driver.

BONNYVILLE – A Bonnyville man is scheduled to attend court in December after allegedly failing a mandatory alcohol screening during a traffic stop. 

Just before midnight on Oct. 20, a member of the Bonnyville RCMP initiated a traffic stop with a Dodge Calibre on 55 St. in Bonnyville. 

A mandatory alcohol screening was conducted with a 30-year-old Class 7 driver. The driver did not pass the alcohol screening, according to Bonnyville RCMP. 

RCMP further determined the man had outstanding warrants and is a suspended driver.   

The 30-year-old man from Bonnyville was issued Provincial Sanctions for impaired driving and was charged criminally for operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.   

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance to speak to the Oct. 20 offences on Dec. 6.
