Elk Point RCMP makes arrest following break and enters

ELK POINT - RCMP have arrested on person in connection to two break and enters that occurred within the Town of Elk Point.

On Jan. 30, Elk Point RCMP were dispatched to a break and enter to a residence in the town of Elk Point where a laptop, mail and money was stolen, according to an RCMP media release.

Then on Feb. 9, Elk Point RCMP responded to a break and enter at a local business. Two speakers were stolen, but tracks were left in the snow, leading to a residence. Elk Point RCMP conducted a search warrant and recovered the stolen property at the residence, according to RCMP.

Cormac Crawford (22) was arrested and charged with the following offences:
6 x Possession of weapon for dangerous purposes.
1 x Carrying concealed weapon
1 x Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
1 x Fail to comply with probation
2 x Mischief under $5000.
2 x possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
2 x Break and enter.
1 x theft under $5000

He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Feb. 13 in St. Paul Provincial Court.
