Elk Point RCMP are asking for the public's help identifying suspects believed to be targeting residences.

ELK POINT - On May 17, 2021, at 2:24 a.m., Elk Point RCMP received a call of a suspicious vehicle driving around the Town of Elk Point, possibly stealing from residences. The vehicle involved was described as a white SUV with no tail lights and was occupied by five masked individuals. In addition, some of the involved individuals were described as having a skinny build and were observed to be riding bicycles in the area of the suspect SUV, and stopping at multiple residences in what was believed to be attempts to commit theft.

Elk Point RCMP conducted patrols and located a suspect vehicle and a number of individuals matching the suspect descriptions in the area of Ravine Drive. An RCMP officer approached the four individuals, who then fled in a white Ford Escape.

The driver was wearing a hoodie that obscured his face, but was observed to be a younger male with a medium complexion wearing black pants with white stripes on the side, a grey hoodie and ball cap, appearing to be approximately 16-19 years of age. The passenger of the vehicle was a female and the two passengers in the back seat were younger looking males, approximately 16-19 years of age.

The suspect vehicle drove southbound on Ravine Drive, turned east bound on 52 avenue and then drove through two fences on the Elk Point Elementary School property before driving in an unknown direction. Extensive damage was caused to the property. Elk Point RCMP were unable to locate the suspect vehicle and have been unable to identify the vehicle occupants.
