Firefighters respond to four medical assists in two days

Volunteer firefighters from Glendon, Bonnyville, Fort Kent and Ardmore fire stations, assisted in four separate medical emergency calls within two days earlier this week.

BONNYVILLE – So far this week, volunteer firefighters with the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority (BRFA) have assisted in four medical emergency calls throughout the MD of Bonnyville. 

On Monday, March 28, Station 3 Glendon responded to a medical assist call at 6:20 a.m. 

Later that same day, Station 5 Bonnyville responded to a medical emergency in the area of 54 St. and 48 Ave. in Bonnyville, at 1:40 p.m. 

The following day, Stations 7 Fort Kent and 8 Ardmore responded to a call of a medical emergency in the area of 49 Ave. and 50 St. in Ardmore at 4 a.m. 

At 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, crews from the Bonnyville Station were called to a medical emergency on Highway 28 and Highway 41 S.  

Truck and tractor collision 

BRFA crews from Ardmore, Bonnyville and Fort Kent were also called to a collision between a tractor and trailer unit and a pickup truck that closed a section of Highway 28 on Monday evening. 

At 10 p.m., crews from all three stations were called to the collision that occurred at the Fort Kent intersection on Highway 28. 

Both drivers were assessed by EMS, but neither were transported to hospital, according to Regional Fire Chief Dan Heney with the BRFA.  

However, both vehicles did require to be towed from the scene.
