First responders say thank you to healthcare workers

ST. PAUL - There was no accident or emergency, but on Thursday afternoon fire trucks, ambulances, RCMP vehicles, and other emergency service vehicles had their sirens blaring in St. Paul and Elk Point.

A long line of emergency vehicles made their way through St. Paul, first drive past the Health Unit, then proceeding to the St. Paul Healthcare Centre. The reason behind the event was a simple thank-you.

"We, as fellow emergency service workers (first responders), want to express our appreciation to the amazing team of healthcare workers giving it their all to help all the sick and injured patients during this pandemic," said St. Paul Fire Chief Trevor Kotowich, who is also the Regional Director of Emergency Management.

A similar event was held around the same time on Thursday in Elk Point.
