GALLERY: Busy night for trick-or-treaters in Lac La Biche County

Halloween turns into a nice community Boo-ster

It was a busy Sunday night for Trick-or-treats going door-to-door collecting treats and seeing spooky decorations in Lac La Biche County.

Many community members went all out with goodies and Halloween decor this year getting into the spirit and tradition of the spooky night. While the downtown core was a little quieter this year because of the Sunday date, the neighbourhoods and subdivisions were busy with an assortment of tiny ghouls, ghosts, monsters ... and ninja turtles.

Normally, says Lac La Biche County peace officer Ben Laboucane, taking a short break from dishing out treats from a municipal patrol vehicle, Main Street is the destination for the community to visit, but this year with Halloween falling on a Sunday, he and peace officer Warren Young parked their cruiser along 94 Avenue and 93 Street. It was one spot where all the action was, said Laboucane, turning to grab a handful of candies to dish out to an awaiting pint-sized Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

It was a busy night for residents, and it was good to see the smiles, says Colin and Brenda Cote, who were handing out treats from their garage on the north side of town.

"It was a great turnout so far," said Colin just before sunset. "It's nice to see all the awesome costumes too."
