Gord Bamford draws a crowd in St. Paul

Country music artists Gord Bamford and Duane Steele were in St. Paul for one of the first large indoor events in town, since the pandemic began.

ST. PAUL - One of the community's largest indoor events since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020 took place in St. Paul on Dec. 10.

Country music artists Gord Bamford and Duane Steele took to the stage at the St. Paul Rec. Centre on Friday evening. While on stage, Bamford himself acknowledged how strange it felt to be back in front of a live audience.

He said he was very appreciative of those in attendance, and acknowledged that when planning the St. Paul and other upcoming shows, those involved really weren't sure what the turnout would be.

"Our hearts are full tonight," said Bamford to the crowd.

The St. Paul & District Chamber of Commerce helped bring the show to St. Paul, and executive director Diane Ellis estimated about 375 tickets had been sold for the Friday night event - and over 100 of those tickets had been sold at the door.

The event followed the Restrictions Exemption Program, and offered rapid tests ahead of time to those who were not vaccinated.

See below for a few clips from the show.
