Hallmark Gold Crown store opens in Tellier Pharmacy

BONNYVILLE - An exciting new shopping experience has come to Bonnyville, amid an already well-established business that is focused on serving the community in the downtown core.

A Hallmark Gold Crown store will officially open this week in Tellier Pharmacy, offering a wide range of giftware, ornaments, greeting cards, and more. The store is not only unique to the community, but it will be "one of the largest Hallmark Gold Crown stores in Canada," according to store operator Caitlin McGrath.

Last year was Tellier Pharmacy's 50th anniversary, and while new and exciting things are happening, the focus of the business remains the same. Of course, providing heartfelt healthcare is at the core of the pharmacy, but providing opportunities for customers who can then provide care to others through the products offered, is also important.

The store has progressed over the years, says McGrath.

“Of course, we’re a pharmacy first,” but being in a rural community with fewer shopping options available, McGrath says the business wanted to offer residents a unique shopping experience.

McGrath describes the pharmacy as having a unique boutique feel. Effort is put into offering "feel good" items throughout the store, and the store even includes a coffee bar.

“We’re really focusing on that hometown feel," says McGrath, adding, “We’re in the heart of main street and at the heart of the community."

She says her staff have been working hard behind the scenes for a few months to make the new Hallmark store a reality.

Specifically, the front store manager Denise Deschenes has been dedicated to creating a unique boutique feel at Tellier Pharmacy. "When I look at it... my team is phenomenal," says McGrath. She says Deschenes has gone above and beyond to make sure the store keeps its shopability, and flows well for customers.

A grand opening for the Hallmark Gold Crown store will be held on Oct. 21. The public is welcome to attend as celebrations will take place throughout the day. Customers can also take part in an initiative to help raise funds for the local food bank from Oct. 21 to 23.

While Tellier Pharmacy and its new Hallmark Gold Crown store hope to offer an "elevated shopping experience within our community," giving back to the community and supporting the community will remain a top priority.

“When you’re good to your community, they’re good to you," says McGrath.
