VILNA - The Vilna & District Agricultural Society hosted a community supper on Dec. 4 where a special donation presentation took place.
During the Boomtown Fair Days in August, the Ag Society hosted a 'Hay! For Ukraine' hay bale auction. Local producers donated hay bales that were auctioned off and purchased by other local producers. The auction raised $7,200 for Ukrainian relief efforts.
The funds were donated to the Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Association, an Alberta based organization that helps settle displaced Ukrainians in Canada and send much need support to Ukraine during this terrible time of war. Since 2014, they have sent $150,000 of aid to Ukraine.
This donation was specifically used to purchase an ambulance full of medical supplies and has been actively working within the war zone to help provide much needed aid to those fighting for freedom.
