The Fire Ban for areas of the Forest Protection Area in and around the Lakeland, including local municipalities, continued to be upheld on Thursday, despite heavy rain in many areas. When the bans were put in place three weeks ago, COVID precautions — and protecting provincial forest firefighters — was also a reason for the ban.
