LAKELAND - RCMP are reporting that Lorne Cardinal, a suspect in the death of man found in a Lac La Biche apartment late last year, was located in Edmonton on Sunday.
Police say Cardinal, 25, has been arrested for the murder of Landy Shirt, a 31-year old Maskwacis man who was found deceased in a Lac la Biche apartment on Dec.18, 2021. Family of Shirt say he had been missing since December 8. An arrest warrant for Cardinal was issued shortly after Shirt's body was found.
Following a judicial hearing Cardinal was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear this week in St. Paul Provincial Court.
Police are releasing no further details on the case.
