New Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce location opens to the public

The Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce welcomed the public to its new facility on Main Street, marking a new chapter for the non-profit organization during a grand opening ceremony on Sept. 9.

BONNYVILLE – A new beginning was marked by the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce staff who welcomed the public to the Chamber’s brand-new location during a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration along Main Street on Sept. 9.

Friday’s event was a jovial occasion following months of uncertainty after the Chamber’s lease agreement at the Shaw House was terminated by the MD of Bonnyville in March.

By June, a new location on 50 Ave. was purchased by the non-profit organization with the intention of increasing visibility in Bonnyville and the wider Lakeland community.

Over the last few months, construction crews have been working on renovating the space to meet the needs of the Chamber and their clients.

Speeches held during the grand opening event noted the importance of economic development, community collaboration and the significant milestone the local Chamber of Commerce has reached.

Serina Parsons, the executive director of the Bonnyville Chamber of Commerce, also noted that the facility’s boardroom at the new location can be rented out by businesses and the public. Non-profit organizations will have access to rent the boardroom free of charge.
