New traffic lights control flow of vehicles on north end of Bonnyville

New traffic lights and a widening of the road has transformed an intersection on the north side of Bonnyville at Highway 28 and 54 Ave. Since the introduction the traffic lights on Oct. 4, one motor vehicle collision has been reported to have taken place in the intersection to RCMP.

BONNYVILLE - The creation of new lane ways and installation of traffic lights have been completed on Highway 28 on the north side of Bonnyville at the intersection of 54th Avenue.

The new lights have caused some confusion for motorists during their introduction to the location as the busy intersection transitioned away from a stop sign controlled intersection to a light regulated intersection.

Since the lights were introduced on Oct. 4, one motor vehicle collision has been reported to have occurred at the intersection, Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke told Lakeland This Week.
