Buffalo Lake resident killed in OHV crash

BUFFALO LAKE - Boyle RCMP have confirmed that a 45-year-old Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement man was killed after being thrown from an all-terrain-vehicle that had been travelling north on Highway 855 within the settlement.

The crash occurred on Sept. 11 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Initial RCMP reports say the lone rider of the ATV appeared to have lost control of the machine and was thrown when the vehicle overturned.

Boyle RCMP, Buffalo Lake Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and motorists with first aid knowledge assisted. Although medical treatment was provided at the crash site, the man succumbed to the serious injuries and died at the scene.

Boyle RCMP are continuing to investigate the crash. Police have been in contact with next of kin. No further updates are anticipated from police.
