ST. PAUL - According to preliminary information from the St. Paul Fire Department and RCMP, a portion of Highway 36/29 is closed, south of Highway 652 (Saddle Lake intersection) and is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.

St. Paul Fire Chief Trevor Kotowich confirmed the incident was a head-on collision about three miles south of Highway 652 and a traffic reconstructionist would be coming out to the area.

RCMP are now investigating and have also confirmed a two-vehicle head-on collision occurred along Highway 29.

"Traffic is being diverted to Highway 646 until (an) investigation is complete," according to Kellieka Formanek, with St. Paul RCMP. "Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible, and to expect delays in the area."
