UPDATE: The power outage earlier this morning was estimated to have been solved by about 11:30 a.m., according to an ATCO report.
Darryl Dunlop, Operations Supervisor with ATCO Electric, said crews repaired broken wires found in different locations. He said they would investigate a little more to prevent further outages, but there shouldn’t be more causes for concern.
In cases of power outages like the one experienced Thursday morning, Dunlop said it can trip the breaker in the substation, immediately notifying their transmission group, which allows for a swift response. Multiple customers were affected, so ATCO was aware of the situation right away.
