ST. PAUL - The St. Paul RCMP detachment received a number of reports regarding community mailbox break-ins throughout the Town of St. Paul, earlier in the week.

RCMP was notified of the mailbox thefts on Feb. 17.

“Various compartments were broken into from each community mailbox unit,” reads an RCMP media release, dated Feb. 19.

Randal Paziuk says she was among those who were affected by the recent thefts.

“My initial reaction was panic, of course, as all our personal information is now in someone else’s hands and who knows what their intentions are with that (information),” says Paziuk. “We called the RCMP and the bank to notify them . . . I’m sure we’re feeling the same as any other person in this situation, violated.”

In the media release, RCMP said they would like to remind people to check their mail regularly to ensure no personal information or valuables are left for criminals to steal.
