RCMP say Beaver Lake house fire is likely arson

RCMP say a fire that destroyed a home on the Beaver Lake Cree Nation was likely arson. No One was seriously injured in the Thursday afternoon fire. Police are now looking for a suspect.

The initial investigation into a fire that destroyed a house on the Beaver Lake Cree Nation is showing the fire was likely set deliberately. RCMP are now looking for a suspect in their arson investigation. 

On April 18, at 1:40 p.m., Lac La Biche RCMP were called to a house fire on Frenchman Way in Beaver Lake, in assistance to Lac La Biche and Beaver Lake Fire Departments. Upon arrival, RCMP officers noted that the residence was fully engulfed in flames.

Investigation by the Lac La Biche and Beaver Lake Fire Department determined that an accelerant was used on the back porch to set the house ablaze.

Lac La Biche RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the person responsible for the fire. Anyone who has information or footage regarding this incident can contact the Lac La Biche RCMP, their local police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
