Police issue update following autopsy of local woman

LAC LA BICHE - This afternoon, Lac La Biche and provincial RCMP officials have released a followup to yesterday's press release on the discovery of a woman's body in a Lac La Biche residence last Thursday evening.

Police say an autopsy on the 21-year old was completed on Tuesday  at the Edmonton Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. They say the cause of death is pending further test results.

The latest RCMP news release says the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation by the Lac La Biche RCMP along with the assistance of the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit.

RCMP have not officially released the name of the victim, and say that no further details can be provided at this time.

Since her body was discovered inside the modern, lakeside home on Churchill Drive, several vigils have been held in honour of the woman, identified by friends and family as Tytiana Janvier. The most recent gathering was held on Tuesday night in the Bonesville subdivision near a residence where the young woman had been staying with her mother.

No information released by the RCMP since the body was discovered has included charges or names of suspects.
