Emergency crews respond to a serious accident at the intersection of Fort Kent and Highway 28 on Oct. 14.

ARDMORE – Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP are again reminding motorists of the importance of following the lane designations at the intersections at Highway 28 and Ardmore, and at Highway 28 and Fort Kent.

“Each intersection has designated turning lanes identified by arrows, it is unsafe and illegal to proceed through the intersection in the turning lane,” according to RCMP.

The Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP, along with emergency crews, have responded to numerous collisions and traffic complaints at both of the high-risk intersections lately.

This fall, RCMP will be conducting enhanced enforcement at those intersections, according to an RCMP press release.

Motorists are asked to pay extra attention to the rules of the road associated to high-risk intersections along Highway 28.
