St. Paul Education has decided to postpone the start of the school year to Sept. 8.

The largest school division in the St. Paul area announced a delay to the start of school on Monday afternoon.

The decision was an individual school board decision, confirmed board chair Heather Starosielski. On Friday the Minister of Education affirmed that divisions had autonomy to adjust the school calendar as they saw fit.
