ST. PAUL - Schools within St. Paul Education are reporting a total of four active cases of COVID-19, as of Wednesday morning.
Superintendent Glen Brodziak confirmed there is one active case connected to Ashmont School, two cases connected to Racette Jr. High School in St. Paul, and one case connected to Glen Avon School in St. Paul.
About 35 students and staff have been impacted by the positive cases and have had to isolate, said Brodziak.
On Tuesday, Alberta Health Services (AHS) sent out a letter to parents and guardians, stating the medical officer of health has requested AHS Public Health initiate an investigation at Racette Jr. High School. The letter confirmed "two or more cases" at the school.
On Tuesday night, Glen Avon School confirmed an active case at the school. A letter from Brodziak stated the school division had been notified by an individual that a student at Glen Avon School has tested positive for COVID-19.
The individual is isolating at home.
A similar letter was sent to parents and guardians on Feb. 15 confirming a case connected to Ashmont School. The letter also stated the individual was a student at the school and that they were isolating at home.
The Racette School cases were confirmed through a letter from the school division sent out on Feb. 14.
