St. Paul skatepark opens to the public

A new, large concrete skate park has opened to the public this month, attracting kids and adults alike

ST. PAUL - The new BMX and skate park in St. Paul is officially open to the public.

While an official grand opening ceremony is expected to take place sometime in August, the skate park is already proving to be a popular spot for BMX bikers, skateboarders, and kids on scooters. The park opened to the public on July 10.

The project to build the large concrete park was taken on by a group of local volunteers. Fundraising is ongoing for the park, with the Town of St. Paul securing a loan this spring to help the group pay the remaining bills.

On Wednesday evening, the park was bustling with a number of youth and adults on bikes, skateboards and scooters.
