COLD LAKE – Near the end of February, a suspicious package was received by the 4 Wing headquarters, and as a result the building was evacuated, and the military police were called in to investigate.

The package was received on Feb. 24, and “as per standard operating procedures, buildings in the surrounding area were evacuated to ensure the safety of 4 Wing personnel,” states a press release from 4 Wing Cold Lake.

The package was later determined to not be a threat.

All evacuated buildings were once again deemed safe to re-enter and activities resumed the same day.
