The ladder of success

More than a dozen families were helped along the ladder to success last Wednesday night with a Ladder-Ball-Making evening hosted by Lac La Biche Family and Community Support Services.

LAC LA BICHE - More than a dozen families were helped along the ladder to success last Wednesday night in McArthur Park with a Ladder-Ball-Making evening hosted by Lac La Biche Family and Community Support Services.

The game, which involves two weighted balls tied together by string being thrown towards rungs of a ladder, is a popular camping and backyard activity.

Organizers of the hands-on building event invited families to help cut wood, punch holes, build and paint their own ladder ball sets — and even string together their weighted throwing balls —  all to take home.

The event was offered at no charge and ran from 4-7 pm.

The FCSS night is one of many themed-activities hosted by the municipal department. More FCSS events, themed for families, youth, seniors and summer visitors, can be found at the local FCSS social media page.
