Thousands of dollars raised in the Lakeland for those living with Multiple Sclerosis

Summer events help raise funds for MS Society.

LAKELAND - The MS Society has had a boost in support over the last couple of weeks in the Lakeland, first with a golf tournament held at the St. Paul Golf Course that raised over $45,000 on Aug 12, followed by the annual Burgers to Beat MS initiative held across the country on Aug. 18.

The annual Tee OFF for MS was held in St. Paul, presented by Lakeland Brewing Company. Plenty of fun was had on the links, and the final tally for the day was also rather impressive.

“The connection was unreal – this day was needed,” said Brenda Rosychuk, Western Canada Lead, Community Fundraising with the MS Society of Canada. A long list of sponsors and volunteers came together to make the day a success. The day didn’t just include golf, but also an after-party held at Lakeland Brewing Company.

Rosychuk, who is based out of St. Paul, says she is thankful for the support shown and is already looking forward to next year.

On Aug. 18, A&W restaurants across the country took part in the 14th annual Burgers to Beat MS Day. On Thursday, $2 from each Teen Burger was donated to the MS Society.

In St. Paul, the day also included a car show in front of the local A&W restaurant, in support of the fundraiser. The national fundraising goal for 2022 was set at $1.5 million.
