Two men arrested and multiple stolen vehicles found

Multiple stolen vehicles that had been reported stolen from the Cold Lake and Bonnyville areas were recovered on Dec. 21 by area police.

COLD LAKE - Multiple stolen vehicles reported to be stolen from Cold Lake and Bonnyville areas were recovered on Dec. 21.

Just days before Christmas, the RCMP’s Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), with assistance from the Cold Lake RCMP, attended a residence in the Cold Lake area, in relation to an ongoing property crime investigation.

"Upon arriving at the property, officers located and recovered multiple stolen vehicles that had been reported stolen from the Cold Lake and Bonnyville detachment areas," according to RCMP. "The value of the recovered property was estimated to be approximately $85 000."

Two suspects were located and arrested at the scene.

Laine Solway-Martial, 24, from Cold Lake, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.
