LAKELAND - A special air quality statement has changed and no longer includes much of the Lakeland region.

As of Monday morning the air quality was still "low risk" for both Cold Lake and St. Lina monitoring stations.

The air quality alert now includes the more northern portion of the province, which is still expected to see smoky conditions due to wildfires burning.

The Lac La Biche, St. Paul, Bonnyville and Cold Lake areas are not included in the updated special air quality statement, which was updated at about 4:30 a.m. on May 13.

Visit Environment Canada for the full alert.
