ST. PAUL - A rural property south of Chicken Hill Lake is being described by RCMP as a crime scene this morning with police expected to remain at the location for some time today.

Public Information Officer Cpl. Troy Savinkoff confirmed to Lakeland Today that there is heavy police presence at the location.

"There is no risk to the community, however, it is a crime scene and we anticipate officers remaining on scene there," he said.

Asked about unconfirmed reports that shots had been fired at some point overnight, Savinkoff said, "I'm not denying those reports," adding information would be forthcoming in a formal media release, currently undergoing review, at some point later today.

At least five police vehicles can be seen parked in the yard, located at the end of a long driveway at Range Road 482 and Township Road 590 in the MD of Bonnyville. Other than that there is no sign of any outside activity in the yard.

Updated information will be provided by Lakeland Today as it becomes available.
