LAKELAND - Wildlife across the area are on the move, and that includes crossing highways without regard for oncoming traffic.
With shorter days, there is an increased need for motorists to be extra vigilant.
“We’ve had several animal hits lately, including a police vehicle,” says Elk Point RCMP Sgt. David Henry. “I just want to tell people to slow down a little from dusk to dawn and let the headlights do their job. Some hits you just can’t help, but some are avoidable," he says.
“Eyes open, drive slow, be safe everyone."
