LAC LA BICHE – Lac La Biche County Fire Rescue Services and officers with the Lac La Biche RCMP detachment responded to a vehicle fire on the morning of May 17.
The incident took place around 11:10 a.m. on 105 Street in the vicinity of the Almac Motel and Britton’s Your Independent Grocer close to the intersection with 101 Avenue (Main Street), and involved a truck being on fire. Flames emanated from the burning vehicle, sending plumes of black smoke into the air.
Members of the Lac La Biche RCMP detachment first arrived on scene, securing 105 Street as well as the area close to the Mobil Fuel gas station, which is located across the parking lot from the grocery store.
Minutes later, Lac La Biche County Fire Rescue trucks were at the scene of the fire. Trucks were set up in the parking lot of the Almac Motel, and firefighters went to work extinguishing the blaze using water and foam.
