ST. PAUL - A woman who was in police custody managed to flee from police twice when she was brought to the local hospital for medical treatment.
On Oct. 31, a prisoner was transported from the St. Paul RCMP Detachment to the St. Paul hospital for medical treatment after appearing to be in medical distress, according to information from RCMP.
“While receiving medical treatment at the St. Paul hospital, the female attempted to flee the hospital ER, she was arrested for escaping lawful custody and brought back into the ER for further medical treatment,” according to St. Paul RCMP.
While receiving continuing medical treatment she was allegedly able to flee a second time, evading police.
“Patrols were made, and the female was located a short time later at a business on main street in St. Paul where she was arrested without further incident,” according to police.
Sydney Wahsatnow, 28, is being held pending a judicial interim release hearing and faces a charge of escaping custody.
