Elk Point RCMP investigate fatal collision on Highway 897
ELK POINT - Elk Point RCMP are reporting a woman was killed in a single vehicle accident Sunday evening on Highway 897 near Township Road 562.
According to a media release, the local detachment responded to an emergency call at approximately 5:30 p.m. The preliminary investigation revealed a SUV was travelling northbound on Highway 897 when it veered off the road and rolled several times into a ditch.
A 56-year-old female passenger from Frog Lake was pronounced deceased at the scene. The adult male driver was taken to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
Elk Point RCMP along with a RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released.
