The St. Paul Jr. B Canadiens are back home from Flin Flon, Man., where they represented the North Eastern Alberta Jr. B Hockey League (NEAJBHL) at the 2024 Central Canada Cup – winning the tournament in convincing fashion.

City of Cold Lake council has approved a $20,000 sponsorship for Extreme Mudfest, set to take place this summer, despite some councillors wanting to reduce the amount.

The Government of Alberta announced a series of sweeping changes today to legislation regulating municipal government and elections, including formally introducing political parties at the municipal level and giving the province more power to overrule bylaws and remove elected councillors. 

The implementation of a Safe Haven Baby Box program was discussed again during a Cold Lake council meeting. The discussion was based on an earlier delegation that an Ardmore resident Mary Sara Robichaud brought to the City at the Jan. 23 regular council meeting. 

Alberta has had almost 700 UFO sightings

On Wednesday morning, the Municipal District of Bonnyville cancelled a state of local emergency and localized evacuation alert that had been in place due to a wildfire burning in Cold Lake First Nations.
