On Sept. 23, the first in-person Lakeland Dark Sky Celebration since 2019 will be taking place at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park.

The events at the Lac La Biche Mission on Saturday, Sept. 9 included a Metis sash weaving and beading workshops, live musical entertainment, as well as a multicultural food fair.

A. G. Ross Arena representatives approached Elk Point council with an urgent request at the Sept. 11 council meeting.

Of the 200 runners expected to arrive in St. Paul for the Sept. 30 Iron Horse Ultra 100, 32 of those athletes will come from the St. Paul, Elk Point and Bonnyville areas.

While there are no laughing children splashing or people working out in the fitness centre, there is still activity happening at the St. Paul Aquatic Centre during the swimming pool's annual shutdown.

The Bonnyville Community Garden operated by LICA has donated more than 220 lbs of fresh produce to the Bonnyville food bank as of Sept. 8. In-kind support from volunteers and local businesses have helped make the donations possible.

It was a full day of activity at the Sept. 16 Riverhurst Community Family Fun Day at the Riverhurst Hall.

At a regular council meeting, area MLA Scott Cyr shared in an open discussion with council members from the Town of Bonnyville. Subjects shifted between wanting new traffic lights on the west side of town, to renewed support for high school RAP programs and representation on future AHS boards.
