Lac La Biche shelter gets funding help from holiday fundraiser

From Jan. 31 to Feb. 6, Alberta RCMP members will be patrolling their respective communities during peak ‘idling hours’ to educate owners on the risks associated with leaving their vehicles idling and in an effort to help prevent “warm-up thefts.”

Lac La Biche County peace officers are using a recent traffic ticket to highlight the importance of slowing down for emergency vehicles.

Residents are asked to avoid the area of 56 St. and 54 Ave. as ATCO Power crews work to address the issue.

Receiving the 2020-21 Family Farm Award, the Antoniuk Farms, located in the Dupre area of the MD of Bonnyville, was recognized as a family that embodies strong values through their farming business practices and community involvement.

Strong wind gusts and snowfall are expected throughout the day. About 10 to 20 cm of fresh snow is expected in the region.
