The Bonnyville Pontiacs came out of the weekend with a win and a loss to add to their season record, losing to the Blackfalds Bulldogs on Friday, then beating the Lloydminster Bobcats on Saturday.

The first minor hockey tournament of the 2023-24 season started off on Friday evening with a very special event, a Teddy Toss to support Santas Anonymous in Elk Point.

Each year, the Wally A. Footz Builders Award is presented by Baseball Alberta for outstanding efforts in structure, promotion and development of amateur baseball in Alberta. This year, it was awarded to Elk Point's Dennell Anderson.

In the provincial Tier IV final, the St. Paul Lions achieved a historic victory, securing their first-ever provincial title with a decisive 41-0 win over the defending champions, the Drumheller Titans.

The Cold Lake Snowmobile Club has approached City of Cold Lake administration seeking a change to the designated snowmobile trail travelling across the northern area of the city.  

It was an intense day of competition for junior high volleyball teams on Nov. 19, as they gathered in St. Paul for the annual boys’ and girls’ St. Paul Athletic Association (SPAA) junior high volleyball championships. 

The Cold Lake Aeros continued their season at home on Nov. 19 with a 6-3 loss against the visiting Vegreville Vipers. The Aeros are sitting at the top of the Canadian American Junior Hockey League.
