BONNYVILLE - On Wednesday, Grade 10-12 students who are part of the Northeast Alberta Schools' Athletic Associations (NEASAA) District 3 took part in track and field qualifiers at Walsh Field in Bonnyville.
Students who finished in the top three of their age bracket for an event will head to NEASAA Zones on May 25, which are also being held at Walsh Field. This will be the first Zones track and field event to be held in since 2019.
Students took part in long jump, high jump, triple jump, discus, javelin, shot put, and track at various distances.
District 3 high schools include Bonnyville Centralized High School, École des Beaux-Lacs, Assumption School, École Notre Dame, J.A. Willams, École Plamondon, École Voyageur.
On May 26, Lakeland Schools' Athletic Association (LSAA) will be hosting Wards track and field for Bonnyville students in Grades 5 to 9.
