VERMILION - The second weekend of Lakeland Cup action brought U15 boys' teams and U17 girls' teams to the pitches in Vermilion from June 23-25.
As the weekend wrapped up it would be the teams from Bonnyville that would claim top spot in both categories.
On the U15 boys' side, Bonnyville took gold, followed by Vermilion winning silver. Cold Lake would win the bronze medals. U15 teams from Vegreville and St. Paul also took part.
Bonnyville and Cold Lake U15 boys' teams will take part in Tier 4 rural soccer provincials in Cold Lake July 7-9.
For the U17 girls, Bonnyville again grabbed the gold medals. Cold Lake would take silver, and Vermilion won bronze. U17 girls' teams from Vegreville and St. Paul also took part in the weekend tournament.
Once again, it will be Bonnyville and Cold Lake taking part in the upcoming provincial tournament held in Cold Lake.
The first weekend of Lakeland Cup was held in St. Paul, June 16-18 featuring U13 and U19 teams.
